Cracking Christmas Tag

Thanks so much to Abby from abbyclareblog for tagging me to take part in this Cracking Christmas Tag! She’s one of the loveliest bloggers in the community and I thoroughly recommend checking her blog and Christmas post out here!

This is a wonderful tag to be taking a part in, especially seeing as it’s so close to Christmas now. Writing about all of the Christmassy things that I enjoy doing gets me even more excited – if that’s even possible!

Without taking up more of your time, here are my answers to the Cracking Christmas Tag!

Weirdest family Christmas tradition?

I don’t think we have any weird traditions. We like to get drunk on Christmas Eve and then wake up at like 8:30 Christmas Day. I suppose that doesn’t make much sense seeing as we then tend to have mini Christmas hangovers all day.

It’s Christmas Eve, what are you doing?

Sorry about answering this already. My and my family go up to our local pub and just have some drinks and meet with other family members and friends. Depending on how everyone is feeling, we sometimes all go back to ours and carry on with the drinking – we’re not alcoholics, I swear!

Another thing we do on Christmas Eve is get gifted a fresh set of pyjamas and bedding to put on so we have a lovely fresh sleep the night before Christmas!

Top 3 Christmas dinner components?

  1. Pigs in Blankets
  2. Gravy
  3. Yorkshire Puddings

When do you decorate your house? November, the beginning of December, the week of Christmas?

The beginning of December, for sure. I find that I’m in the mood a lot more for it as soon as November is over and the earlier I put them up in December the more Christmassy I’ll feel throughout the month.

Loved and loathed Christmas songs?

I honestly don’t think there’s a Christmas song that I don’t like. I adore all of the classic ones like “Fairytale of New York”, “I Wish It Could Be Christmas Everyday” and “Last Christmas” and I just sing a long to them as and when I hear them.

The only thing I would say about my taste in Christmas music is that I don’t really listen to all of the newer Christmas albums from artists like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande. I like to stick with the oldies.

One big present or lots of little things to open?

I’d much prefer to have one big present just because they tend to last longer than all of the small ones. The small presents tend to be good for about a month and then you forget that you even had them.

What is your favourite Christmas decoration? (Include a photo if you have one)

I haven’t got one favourite decoration, purely because whenever I go travelling I pick up a bauble/Christmas decoration from each place that I visit. I do it because when it comes to Christmas I get to remember that holiday and all of the memories that come with it whilst I put them all up around the house.

Do you like to have a themed tree or one with a bit of everything?

Bit of everything. Mum has kept a lot of decoration that we made when we were kids and now we’ve all added different ones to it so our tree is just full of memories. It’s super nostalgic putting everything up in our house now.

I could never see our tree with just newly bought John Lewis baubles on it now, it wouldn’t feel the same.

Christmas pudding: yay or nay?

Absolutely nay. I’ve never liked Christmas pudding and I honestly don’t think I ever will. I much prefer a cheese board or some kind of chocolatey dessert to end my Christmas meal.

What’s at the top of your Christmas wishlist this year?

All I’ve asked for this year is to redecorate my room. My parents have given me a set amount and if I need more I have to use my own money but it’s looking good so far!

Once it’s completely finished, I’ll make sure to write a post and show you all how it looks.

But on to the next part of the post, here are my wonderful nominations:

Taiwo from A Lifestyle Nerd

Geraldine from Geraldine Talks

Emily from Emilyaagaard.com and

Vinny from Artsydraft

I’ll look forward to reading the rest of these Christmassy posts over the next couple of days!

Thanks again for reading and there will be a new post up soon X
