A Gig Trip to London

Before I start, I just wanted to say a massive sorry for not posting in so long! Everything will be explained in my next post!

But for now, I hope you enjoy this one X

———————————————————————–

A couple weeks ago, I went to London with my best friend for a 2 night stay.

It came about when a few months back she told me she had an extra ticket to go and see the Australian band, Sticky Fingers. Of course I said yes. Then, a few weeks after that Ben Howard announced some tour dates and to our surprise he had 2 dates in London – one the same day as the Sticky Fingers concert and one the day after.

So as the music fans that we are, we bought tickets for Ben Howard and decided to stay for an extra night.

Day 1: STICKY FINGERS @ Kentish Town

After arriving in London, we were both so excited to get to the Sticky Fingers gig we had planned. We managed to grab some food and started to get ready for the gig almost immediately after arriving.

For those of you who don’t know, Sticky Fingers are an Australian indie band that has this really cool, retro aura surrounding them. So, when we got to the event, it was like walking into and 80s/90s disco.

Because we had standing tickets, we decided to grab a pint of peach cider and chill at the back for a bit – just to relax ourselves into what we were about to experience.

After waiting a half hour after the support act, Sticky Fingers were finally here. The crowd – as you can imagine – went CRAZY.

They looked so good, especially with their well-known facial hair, and sounded a whole lot better. It honestly just sounded like I was listening to them through headphones, they were that good live.

Sticky Fingers

There was honestly nothing negative that I could take away from the night. The crowd we ended up with were really nice and totally into the band as much as the two of us were.

I would even say that it ended up being one of the best crowds I’d been a part of – with regards to how much fun everyone was having at the show.

I seriously recommend seeing them live, but if not, definitely go and check them out!

Day 2: BEN HOWARD @ Eventim Apollo, Hammersmith

This gig absolutely flew by.

What was nice about it was that we didn’t have to rush to get there. We had seating  tickets so it meant that we could get there for when the doors open and not worry about finding somewhere in the audience.

We chose seating tickets because we knew we’d be dancing so much the night before in the Sticky Fingers gig so we didn’t want to be on our feet all night again. (This was a great shout on our behalf tbf).

With another pint of cider in hand, we got to our seats to find out we were the 3rd row back. This gave us a great view of Ben and the band and enough room to just sit back and enjoy the music.

We had both seen Ben Howard live before and he was just as good then as he was now.

Ben Howard

All in all we had such a great time! Both artists played insanely well and we managed to get to both events without much hassle as the underground was pretty quiet.

It was such a lovely couple of days and I would definitely do it again.

I hope you guys enjoyed the post and please feel free to leave a comment!
